Hello Everyone, I'm behind this week so I do not have much progress to report. I started looking the lab documentation this week, but have not had the chance to watch the video that the professor posted. I'm looking forward to apply Javascript to the lab and to my project this week. Using Javascript opens up whole world of capabilities.
Update:
I was able complete my Lab yesterday. It was a little bit of trial and error, but I was able to complete it:

Hello Drew,
ReplyDeleteTo help with your course project, which calls for basic calculations, image rollovers, user prompts and alerts, I can briefly explain each one. I'm not completely sure what we need to do with basic calculations, if anyone else knows, please let me know. I tried to look it up, but I could not find anything. As for image rollovers, image rollovers are when there is a text and when you put your cursor over it, it should display the image attached to it. For user prompts, a user prompt box can pop up with a question followed by if the user clicks 'yes' or 'no'. Alerts are like what we had to use in our previous week's lab where we got an alert whenever one of our boxes were not filled in.
Good luck with this week's lab and course project, Drew!
Hey Drew,
ReplyDeleteI feel like I was in the same boat as you when it comes to this week's assignments. I had to do a lot of trail and error myself when trying to figure out both assignments this week, using JavaScript wasn't very easy to say the least ha ha. I had to use Google a lot to try ad figure out what was right and what was wrong, when trying to figure out what portion of my code was correct. For awhile there I couldn't even get the code at the top of the page to show up, but after rereading a bunch of stuff from the book I got there. I really wonder how much harder the school work this week would have been if the professor wouldn't have had so much of the html and JavaScript done for us already ha ha, good work this week!
I agree Drew, Java Script can be challenging but it is worth. Like many things you gotta trial and error every little feature. As I posted on my blog, Java Script has a ton of uses both inside and outside of web design. I admit even for our automatic slide show I had a little trouble, but I feel I pulled through. However, once you pick what you wanna make it just a matter of learning the basics of Java and following through. I wish everyone the best of luck to everyone on their course project.
